 JR es un fotógrafo francés que ha dedicado su carrera fotográfica a realizar retratos de personas con el fin de dar a conocer otras realidades a la suya. En octubre de 2011 durante una plática que se encontraba impartiendo en California para TED, le fue otorgado el “TED art award” por su proyecto “Insideout”. Este premio se conviritó en la chispa para llevarlo al mundo.
JR in a french photographer who has dedicated his photographic career to portrait people in order to present different realities other than his own. In october 2011, during a talk he was giving at TED in California, he was honored with the "TED Art Award" for his proyecto "Inside out". This award transformed into a spark that traveled the whole world.

The Wild Wild West - hablemos de Richard Avedon (1923 - 2004)

Avedon recibió el apoyo del Museo Amon Carter en Forth Worth, Texas. Estaban interesados en que continuara haciendo retratos como éste. Durante 5 veranos, Avedon crearía el trabajo que aportaría mucho al campo de la fotografía (pues exhibió las piezas sin el prestigioso enmarcado, y en un formato desde cuatro hasta once pies de altura).
Avedon recieved the support from the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Their interest was that he continued doing portraits like this one. During 5 summers, Avedon would create the work that would greatly contribute to the field of photography (since he exhibited the pieces without the prestigious framing, and printed in a four-to-eleven feet high format).

El programa The International Fine Art Photography es una competencia con una mision clara, la de descubrir nuevos talentos en la fotografia find art, para proveer reconocimiento y exposicion y apoyar a los fotografos emergentes para que continuen con su passion.

United Photo Industries, Photo District News (PDN), y Brooklyn Bridge Park le dan la bienvenida a su nuevo socio, Flash Forward Festival, ya que una vez más se unen para curar y producir THE FENCE 2013 - la exposición fotográfica anual durante todo el verano al aire libre que atrajo a más de 1 millón visitantes durante sus 10 semanas organizado en el Brooklyn Bridge Park en 2012.

United Photo Industries, Photo District News (PDN), and Brooklyn Bridge Park welcome their newest partner, Flash Forward Festival, as they once again join forces to curate and produce THE FENCE 2013 – the annual summer-long outdoor photo exhibition that drew over 1 million visitors during its 10 week run at Brooklyn Bridge Park in 2012.

Photographers of all levels are invited to submit their best image series that capture the essence of “community” and fit into one or more of the competition categories: HOME, STREETS, PEOPLE, CREATURES, PLAY.
All images will be considered by an internationally renowned jury and resulting images will make up THE FENCE, which is expanding this year to a new city –creating TWO public photography installations!

In addition to our 1000ft long photographic installation displayed in Brooklyn Bridge Park in NYC, we are partnering with Boston’s Flash Forward Festival, to produce a special curated version of THE FENCE, displayed along the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston – offering even more opportunities for visibility for all participating photographers.

Bruce Mozert, by the age of 20, was already an accomplished photographer in N.Y. City. Soon after arriving, he built his first underwater camera case.His pictures were picked up by wire services and magazines throughout the world. Mozert became well known for his underwater photographs, as well as his sexy pin-ups and animal photos.
Bruce Mozert created some of the most memorable kitsch photography in the era of Florida’s tourism marketing boom of the 1950′s. His underwater shots of beautiful models in crystal-clear waters were sent out on wire services and helped establish Silver Springs as Florida’s premier tourist attraction.

La Edición No. 59 de la Revista F-Stop tendrá como tema Verdadero / Falso. Son fotografías reales? Puede ser una fotografía "verdadera"? Es una imagen documental o un retrato que muestra la verdad? Es una imagen alterada digitalmente, falsa o ficción o tal vez sólo una forma diferente de comunicar algo así? Este tema está abierto a la interpretación.

Pueden enviar hasta 12 imágenes siguiendo las debidas instrucciones. Las imágenes deben ser recibidas el 15 de mayo.

Las líneas de asunto del correo electrónico deberá indicar a qué tema se está sometiendo el trabajo.

ISSUE #59 of F Stop Magazine will have the theme True/False. Are photographs real? Can a photograph be "true"? Is a documentary image or a portrait showing truth? Is a digitally altered image false or fiction or perhaps just a different way of communicating something true? This theme is open to interpretation.

You can submit up to 12 images following the guidelines. Images must be received by May 15.
